Background

Using inspiration from apps we've used, we created an application prototype where users can rate the accessibility standards at any establishment.
"Everyone Deserves a Seat at the Table."

Inspirations

Google, Yelp, Yikyak
Like many other online platforms, these apps have accessibility challenges due to various factors:
Lack of captions: Video content without captions or transcripts can be inaccessible to users who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Insufficient visual cues: Websites that rely heavily on auditory cues, such as alerts or notifications, without providing visual alternatives may exclude users who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Small text size: Small text size without the option to enlarge it can make it difficult for users with low vision to read the content.

Colour Palette & Logo

The magnifying glass represents our intention to investigate current issues with accessibility, and increase their visibility to those who may not experience them.

Round Tables have no head, and imply equal status to everyone. Further, our core value relies on giving our users a voice, or a “seat at the table”
